...That's no small thing

Hi blog world.
I'm joining in the fun! I don't have great words of wisdom, but I do have words, my words that I want to share and remember. I'm L.H. I'm a mom to my adorable Sam, a reluctant Army wife, and most importantly a Follower of Christ. I'm on a journey right now to look at where I've been, how it got me to where I am and where I'm going from here. It's a time of change and transition and though I may not share my words with many people, I want to document this for myself and anyone else who may be in the same place as I am.

My blog title came from the song "Loving A Person" by Sara Groves. It's one I've loved for a long time (I love most of her songs, she is AMAZING!), but didn't really understand fully until I got married. Here are the lyrics:

Loving a person just the way they are, it's no small thing
It takes some time to see things through
Sometimes things change, sometimes we're waiting
We need grace either way

Hold on to me
I'll hold on to you
Let's find out the beauty of seeing things through

There's a lot of pain in reaching out and trying
It's a vulnerable place to be
Love and pride can't occupy the same spaces baby
Only one makes you free

Hold on to me
I'll hold on to you
Let's find out the beauty of seeing things through

If we go looking for offense
We're going to find it
If we go looking for real love
We're going to find it

Hold on to me
I'll hold on to you
Let's find out the beauty of seeing things through

Loving a person just the way they are, it's no small thing
That's the whole thing

Loving me just the way I am, it's no small thing
It takes some time, It takes some time,
It takes some time, It takes some time

Wow! Right?! My marriage is a work in progress. It's been so difficult for us. We were married June 28, 2008, two and a half years ago now. That's not a long time! But, in those two years we've dealt with an insane amount of stuff, not the least of which is that we are from different countries. I'll go into more detail later, but we'll just say that right now I'm trying to find "the beauty of seeing things through," especially in my marriage.

So, that's my first post. Here's to many, many more, and lots of discovery along the way!
